Making a Difference in Timor Leste

E-mail Print PDF

The latest leadership roundtable was generously hosted by Gerry Moriarty at Macquarie Bank. It was a great opportunity to hear from John Thwaites former Deputy Premier of Victoria and Peter McMullin, Deputy President, Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry, about the difference they are making in Timor Leste. We were inspired by the leadership that John and Peter are providing, particularly given the enormity of the challenge in Timor Leste. Senior business leaders who attended the leadership roundtable were pleased to connect with this important work. It was a timely reminder that we have it pretty good in Australia and that leadership is about making a difference.

Big Kahuna Leadership Survey

The Big Kahuna Leadership Survey’ conducted by Donovan Leadership collects the views of fifty influential business and community leaders, with
the dual aim of both countering the negative analysis in the market place about the Global Financial Crisis and providing an opportunity for a dialogue between leaders on what it will take to meet the challenges ahead.

We asked the Big Kahuna respondents the following three questions.

  • What is your key leadership challenge over the next twelve months?
  • What are the top 2-3 attributes that you and leaders around you need to meet those challenges?
  • How are those attributes best developed?
