Brian Donovan is the Director of Donovan Leadership, a business he created in 2007. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the IT Skills Hub from its inception in May 2001 to May 2005. The IT Skills Hub was a not for profit company formed by the Federal Government and twenty of the nation’s leading ICT companies. During that period, he led a number of leading edge research programs and leadership training initiatives.
Prior to this, Brian was the General Manager, Corporate Affairs for the Network & Technology division in Telstra where he was responsible for internal and external communications for that division. In this role, he was responsible for media and Government relations as well as employee communications for 10-15,000 staff across the country.
Brian has worked in the telecommunications sector throughout his career in a number of different roles, ranging from employee relations, industrial relations, project management and corporate affairs.
He created Donovan Leadership in 2007 to address the leadership development needs of technology leaders. Brian has spent many years coaching and supporting leaders in the technology field and is providing programs specifically designed for them in his new business. By virtue of his own career, he has developed a good understanding of the world of the technology leader and the issues they face.
Brian has conducted ground breaking research on the development needs of technology leaders, following one-on-one interviews with fifty senior industry opinion leaders. The research has given him a unique insight into the contemporary issues faced by technology leaders. The leadership coaching program that Brian has designed in response to this research addresses the critical need for technology leaders to reinvent themselves as ‘people’ leaders.
Brian has three adult children who still manage to keep him honest and is interested in personal development, health and fitness and travel.
