## What is Transactional Intelligence®?

Once you move into leadership, the hard problem is no longer solving the technical work. It is getting results through other people.

That work is made of transactions: what you asked for, what they heard, what was agreed, and whether anyone signed up or only nodded.

Most of it happens on instinct. Almost nobody is taught to do it deliberately.

**Transactional Intelligence®** is the skill of navigating those exchanges on purpose. It was developed by Kirkland Tibbels and John Patterson at Influential U. Expertise is necessary. It is not sufficient. The rest is learnable, and the three programs below are where I teach it as an accredited delivery partner for Influential U.

## Meet Brian

I’m an executive coach and author—and a self-confessed gentleman.

My dad raised me that way. And over the years, working with senior leaders, I’ve seen a consistent truth: the most effective leaders are gentle men and women. They get the best results because they treat people with dignity and respect.
